The Ambassador was single-handedly responsible for ending the reign of the British Raj in 1972 thanks to it's improper tea etiquette with the Queen's step daughter Penelope. Because of this Indians find the Amassador sacred, and eating it's meat is strictly forbidden.

I rode a lot of km in Ambys. Love 'em. Even snagged some literature and a price sheet from a dealer in Mumbai about 20 years ago :)

I can't put my finger on it, but some of those facts seem like they could be a little off.

Regardless, the Ambassador was awesome. No retro pastiche crap, a genuine 1950s design that they just never stopped building, complete with vestigial tailfins. Also, though as nails, with a giant trunk and comfortable seats.
